How we price metal casting

Casting weight = part weight × (1 + machining & fettling allowance). Metal is priced at the casting-grade alloy rate per kg plus the foundry conversion rate per kg. The pattern or die is a one-time tooling charge, and only the critical faces and bores are finish-machined. If you pick a wrought grade (e.g. EN8) we price the closest castable grade and tell you.

Instant prices are approximate estimates, not final offers. Every order is confirmed by an engineer before production.

Frequently asked questions

Why is casting cheaper for higher quantities?

Because the pattern or die is paid once and the near-net shape removes most machining.

Is tooling included in the unit price?

Tooling is listed separately as a one-time cost so you can see the true repeat-order price.
